– SCRIPTURE READING –

BACKGROUND

The book of Psalms is a collection of very personal prayers and emotions, ranging from despair to joyful celebration. The prayers of the psalmists are honest. Remember to make your prayers personal and honest as well; God knows the depths of your heart. Read Psalm 1 (NIV).

Psalm 1

1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,

2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.

3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

One of my favorite things is to look at scenery and tell God how beautiful it is. The analogy of looking at the extravagant love of Christ in the same way really spoke to me. Thanks!

Only our precious Lord would have prepared me for this day - what has happened, what I learned about family and God and how HE always is present. tx.

Study your wife in such a manner as it drives out all desire for any other woman. There's a sermon in that. That's a great word in and of itself, let alone the rest of that great message. I appreciate the time you put into this, Pastor J.D.!

Great message to examine your heart: Do you do God's will born out of "duty" "obedience" "desire" "love" or "joy"?Ask the Spirit for guidance? Just worship Him for his mercies upon you!
